GPUMINE Mining Encyclopedia(六)

What is a Node?

A node is a client of a blockchain's distributed ledger. It retrieves block information for mining, browses block messages, and sends transactions. Running a blockchain node is only necessary for solo mining and mining pools.

Mining Software

Mining software is typically developed by third parties for specific mining protocols. Acting as a communication bridge between mining rigs and mining pools, mining software calculates answers using hardware devices and sends them to the pool, while also displaying statistics and data on its interface.

Mining Protocol

A mining protocol is an API interface designed by mining pools for mining software, facilitating integration. It allows mining software to communicate with the pool efficiently.
